In September, Oakwood School 7th grade students traveled to Santa Catalina Island to take part in a five-day environmental science and leadership camp. Students were hosted by the Catalina Environmental Leadership Program (CELP), where they studied the island’s terrestrial and marine ecosystems and participated in activities that emphasized teamwork and self-determination. Activities included both day and night snorkeling, kayaking, a climbing wall, a ropes course with a zipline, and more.
