Student Musicians Shine at Oakwood Middle School’s Spring Concert
Oakwood Middle School’s spring music concert was a lively and entertaining showcase of student talent. Featuring performances from the Percussion Ensemble, Ukes & Tunes, and the Rock Rap Pop classes, the evening offered a wide range of musical styles and a clear sense of student pride and collaboration.
The Percussion Ensemble captivated the audience with high-energy pieces like Buck Mania and Plastik Surgery by Chris Brooks, along with crowd favorites Don’t Stop Believin’ and My Sharona. Ukes & Tunes delivered a melodic and heartfelt mix of songs, including Riptide, Over the Rainbow, and Can’t Help Falling in Love, featuring polished ukulele accompaniment and expressive vocals. The Rock Rap Pop group closed with a burst of energy, performing Funky Town, Million Dollar Baby, and What You Know, showcasing confident stage presence, electric instrumentation, and strong ensemble work.
