Students See Success at Speech Tournament

Oakwood High School sophomore Sienna Teel and freshman Nathan Emata competed at the UCLA Invitational over the weekend of November 15-16. Sienna participated in Dramatic Interpretation with her piece Ice Cream for Dinner, while Nathan competed in Informative Speaking with a speech on haute couture. Both students participated in the online tournament from home.
Nathan competed in four preliminary rounds and advanced to a final round against five competitors, ultimately earning 4th place overall. Sienna also completed four preliminary rounds, scoring high enough to advance to finals and finishing the tournament 6th overall.
Oakwood is proud of their dedication and outstanding performances.
