Oakwood School kindergarten students recently explored 3D shapes through engaging, hands-on activities. Using marshmallows and toothpicks, they built models of cubes, pyramids, and other three-dimensional figures to deepen their understanding of structure and form. To reinforce shape recognition in a fun way, students also sorted snacks by their geometric properties—for example, identifying cheese balls as spheres, Bugles as cones, and wafers as rectangular prisms. These activities combined play with purposeful learning to strengthen math vocabulary and spatial reasoning skills.
