Third Grade Students Create a Veterans Day Tribute

Oakwood School 3rd Grade students set a white table to honor our veterans who have served or can not be home with their families. Students commemorated their friends and family who served by placing a photo of their loved ones on the table. The table is to remind us of their sacrifices that protect our freedoms.

The small table symbolizes on soldier's lonely battle

The white cloth honors a soldier's pure heart

The white candle for peace

The lemon represents a captive soldier's bitter fate

The salt is for the tears of families waiting for their return

The empty chair is for the missing soldier

The turned-over glass is for the meal that won't be eaten

The black napkin is for the sorrow of captivity

The red rose and ribbon symbolize the hope that all soldiers will return one day
