Oakwood High School Seniors Named National Merit Scholarship Finalists

Three of our incredible High School Seniors: Shayan Daijavad, Kate Jackson, and Konark Vinod, are National Merit Scholar Finalists. They each received a Certificate of Merit and will now be considered for the Merit Scholarship awards.

More than 1.5 million students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program annually; only 16,000 students are then chosen to become semifinalists. Approximately 15,000 students become finalists. To qualify as a finalist, a student "must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, write an essay and earn SAT® scores that confirm the student's earlier performance on the qualifying test". Scholarship winners will be announced in March.

Congratulations to Shayan, Kate, and Konark for their hard work and stellar achievement. We are excited to see all that they continue to accomplish.
