Oakwood's beautiful new Gwendolyn Riches Liberal Arts Center Theatre had its debut performance on October 25th and 26th with the high school comedy "Here Comes the Judge." The rapid comedic dialogue, superb acting, and zany characters in this play held the audience's attention.
In this amusing play, Judge Knott, who can go from lucid to loony tunes in a split second, is presiding over two cases. In one, a snooty department store manager accuses a lovable bag lady of shoplifting. In the other, elderly 'golden gals' and a 'golden guy' accuse punk rock teenagers of disturbing the peace. Before the judge can rule, a dog-napper and his girlfriend take the courtroom hostage, and this group of characters has to work together to defeat their captors.
Thank you to everyone who came out to support Oakwood's Performing Arts Program and the cast, tech crew, creative staff, and parent volunteers and supporters for their time, talent, and hard work putting the show together.
