2018 Pumpkin Carving Festival

The week leading up to Halloween is full of Halloween and harvest activities for Oakwood students.

Jr. Kindergarten students were thrilled to see that their garden was transformed into a pumpkin patch. With donated pumpkins, parent volunteers transformed the ECE garden so students could enjoy an afternoon visit to the patch. Students spent some time exploring the ECE Pumpkin Patch and were able to pick out their own pumpkin to take home.

The Oakwood community gathered on Monday, October 29 for the Annual Pumpkin Carving Festival. Attendees of all ages enjoyed carving pumpkins of various shapes and sizes into impressive works of art. Attendees happily ate their way through the chili cook off entries and voted for their favorite. Little ones enjoyed carnival games, a cake walk, story time and even a spooky zone.

Halloween morning was a special one for Oakwood ECE students. Family, friends, staff, and students lined the ECE parade path as our youngest students proudly paraded through campus in their Halloween costumes. After parading through the high school quad, students made their way through the elementary and middle school halls. This sweet tradition gets the Oakwood community in the spirit for a day full of Halloween festivities.

In the afternoon, Oakwood elementary students showed off their Halloween costumes during their parade as onlookers cheered them on. Then they went to their class parties where they enjoyed Halloween activities and goodies.

Oakwood middle and high school students wore a variety of costumes to school, showcasing their creativity and fun personalities.
