COVID-19 Vaccination Information

We know many families may be preparing for and wondering about the upcoming COVID-19 vaccination release for children ages 5-11.  We have compiled key information, FAQ's, and other relevant facts below for reference.

If you are hesitant, we encourage you to contact your child’s pediatrician to talk through the misinformation that is prominent in the media, online, and elsewhere. Your pediatrician can discuss the vaccine's efficacy and safety with you and your family.  As we have shared regarding our 12 and above population, Oakwood strongly encourages all eligible individuals to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. This is also a great time to receive your annual flu shot as well. The COVID-19 vaccine and the flu shot are free for everyone and can be administered at the same time.

COVID-19 vaccination eligibility for children ages 5-11 opened on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. If you are interested in scheduling a vaccination appointment for your child, please visit the County's vaccination website or contact your pediatrician's office.

Any questions can be submitted to our Pandemic Team.
