On May 10, 2018, Oakwood School officially broke ground on our campus expansion project! We are filled with much hope and anticipation as we look out onto the open spaces which are now busy with construction vehicles moving steel and preparing the land for what's to come.

To support our need to expand and enhance our campus, we have launched the Spreading Our Roots Campaign.

This campaign is the first of its kind for Oakwood, and mirrors what other independent, not-for-profit schools employ to fundraise for projects of this magnitude. As we ramp up our fundraising efforts to complete Oakwood's new liberal arts building, gymnasium, and playfield, ultimately advancing our school's ability to provide enhanced hands-on learning opportunities and expanded extracurricular offerings for our current students as well as sustaining this excellence decades into the future, we will look to our entire community for support. Please explore the information and updates below to learn about this ambitious project and how your family can help support this effort.

Spreading Our Roots is a carefully considered, long-term solution to the facilities needs of the students and staff on campus.

Oakwood will leverage gifts, allocate resources where they are needed most across the school, and ensure the availability of quality instructional and co-curricular spaces throughout the campus, just as we always have. The campaign effort will strongly position Oakwood School as a leader in educational instruction, formation of self, and extracurricular activities for generations to come.

Liberal Arts Building

A 34,089 sq. ft. building offering a dedicated 200 seat theater, as well as drama, arts, and upper school English and history classrooms.

Gymnasium

A 20,912 sq. ft. building offering more space for P.E. classes and more importantly providing much needed space for athletic practices, games, and tournaments.

Playfield

A competition field to accommodate soccer, football, track, field hockey, and lacrosse teams, bolstering our Oakwood Athletics program.

Campaign News and Events

As we have mentioned, our overall goal for the campaign is 100% parent participation. Our faculty, staff, and board have already achieved this. Spreading Our Roots is an ALL IN effort and that's where you come in.

Participation from each family is vital to our efforts. The size of the gift doesn't matter--your participation does.

We are so grateful to those who donated this past year and are excited for another banner year for Oakwood and the campaign.

Thank you for making this possible and your continued support of Oakwood.

Support Spreading Our Roots

This campaign is a resounding call to invest in our remarkable school and make it possible for future generations of Oakwood students and faculty to excel and discover, to imagine and pioneer, to lead and transform. We will unite as a community to create an even better Oakwood and amplify our impact on the world—both locally and globally.

Participation by all parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends will be vital to our success. Please consider supporting Oakwood by making a meaningful gift to Spreading Our Roots. Each gift—no matter the size—makes a difference and moves us closer to achieving our goals.

Major naming rights are available for spaces throughout the Liberal Arts Building, Gymnasium, and Playfield, as well as known and loved existing spaces across the Oakwood campus. This is a wonderful chance to leave your family's legacy on our campus.
