Summer Explorers Weekly Newsletter
The capes have been hung, the masks have been unmasked, and the secret identities have been revealed—it’s time to celebrate the incredible time we had during Superheroes Week! Each camper showed bravery, creativity, and a sense of justice that would make any comic book legend proud. Whether they were mastering fun obstacle courses, crafting their superhero gadgets, or saving the day in our epic scavenger hunt missions, they faced every challenge like Superheroes! On Fun Friday, our campers showed off their superhero moves as they climbed, jumped, and spun in an Avengers bounce house! What an epic way to close out Summer@Oakwood!
Till next summer
Dear Summer@Oakwood Families,
As we close on another incredible camp season, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to you—our wonderful families. Thank you for choosing Summer@Oakwood as the place for your children to create memories, make new friends, and discover new passions this summer.
We understand that selecting a summer camp is no small decision. It means trusting us with your most precious treasures, your children, and believing in our ability to provide them with a safe, fun, and enriching environment. We do not take this responsibility lightly, and it has been an absolute privilege to have your family as part of our summer camp community.
From the first day of camp, we have watched your children grow in confidence, creativity, and camaraderie. Whether they were exploring nature, conquering new challenges, or simply enjoying time with their friends, we have been inspired by their curiosity, enthusiasm, and joy.
But none of this would have been possible without you. Your support, trust, and involvement have been invaluable to us. Your commitment to making this summer special for your child and all of our campers has made all the difference.
Once again, thank you for choosing Summer@Oakwood!
Sincerely,
Summer@Oakwood Team

Welcome to the Summer Olympics! As always, we provided an enriching and memorable experience for all our campers this week. We participated in sports, fun, and learning all while focusing on the history of the Olympics, the importance of fair play, and the different cultures that come together during these games. For arts and crafts, children created their own Olympic medals, team flags, Olympic torches, directed drawings, and so much more! This was a wonderful way for them to express their creativity and team spirit. Our grand finale was our Mini-Olympics event! On Fun Friday campers showed off their strengths in a series of fun and friendly games. We even had a medal ceremony to celebrate everyone’s achievements. What a SPORT-TASTIC week!
The excitement doesn't stop there! Brace yourselves for the incredible themes lined up for the upcoming weeks:
- July 29-August 2: Animal Planet

Water Play Day!
We have an exciting event planned for Friday, August 2nd. Get ready for a day of fun in the sun with our fantastic water play extravaganza! To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all children, we will have various water stations and crazy sprinklers set up for their entertainment.
Please send your child to camp with the following items:
- Towel: Please pack a towel for your child to dry off after water play.
- Swimsuit Attire: Children should come to camp wearing their swimsuits under their clothes or they can change into them later in the day.
- Water Shoes or Shoes That Can Get Wet: All children need to wear water shoes or shoes that can get wet during water play activities. This requirement is for their safety.
- Full change of clothes: Bring a change of clothes, including undergarments, for your child to change into once water play is over. We want to ensure that everyone is comfortable and dry for the rest of the day's activities.
We are thrilled to provide this amazing opportunity for your child to have a blast with waterplay! If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. We look forward to a day filled with joy and laughter!

This week, our campers embarked on an exciting journey to explore various careers and discover what they want to be when they grow up. We highlighted different careers each day and welcomed virtual guest speakers who shared valuable information about being firefighters, doctors, mail carriers, police officers, and chefs. This exposure inspired the imaginative aspirations of our young explorers! Our campers brought all this information to life by creating their very own police badges, toolboxes, directed drawings of their future careers, and chef's hats with a delicious dinner to boot! What an inspirational week!

Welcome back! We hope you and your family enjoyed the 4th of July holiday week.
This week we are thrilled to have your children join us for an exciting and educational week “Down on the Farm”. Campers learned about the different animals found on a farm and their roles through interactive presentations and videos. We also learned about the valuable contribution farmers make to support our food supply and the super cool essential farm equipment needed to do so. Campers were thrilled to make wonderful hands-on crafts, such as farm animal masks, creative directed drawings, muddy pigs, and wooly sheep. We even got to plant seeds and learn about the life cycle of a plant!
Down on the Farm week was even more special on Fun Friday when an excited bunch of farm animals visited our campus for a petting zoo! What an egg-citing week!
The excitement doesn't stop there! Brace yourselves for the incredible themes lined up for the upcoming weeks:
- July 15-19: When I Grow Up...
- July 22-26: Summer Olympics
