Dear Families,

As we come to the end of another incredible summer at Summer@Oakwood, we want to take a moment to say thank you for choosing to spend your summer with us. It has been such a joy watching your children learn, grow, make new friendships, and create memories that we hope they will carry with them long after summer comes to an end.

What a perfect way to wrap up our summer than with our Around the World adventures! This week, our campers used their imaginations to travel to different destinations, discover famous landmarks, and learn about cultures and traditions from around the world. Through hands-on activities, creative projects, music, stories, and imaginative play, they were reminded that there is a big, wonderful world out there waiting to be explored.

Thank you for trusting us with your children and allowing us to be part of their summer. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to create a summer filled with fun, friendship, exploration, and learning. Your children have made Summer@Oakwood a truly special place, and we will miss their smiles, laughter, and energy!

Carnival Fun was such a hit with our Summer Explorers! Our campers were immersed in a week of laughter, learning, creativity, and unforgettable memories. Every day was filled with exciting carnival-inspired activities that encouraged children to explore, create, and grow while having an amazing time with their friends.

On Fun Friday, our campers participated in a variety of classic carnival games including ring toss, bean bag toss, bowling, balloon games, duck pond, and target toss. These activities were more than just fun—they helped children strengthen their hand-eye coordination, balance, fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and perseverance. As they practiced aiming, throwing, balancing, and taking turns, campers learned that trying their best and encouraging one another is just as important as winning. We ended our day with a classic carnival treat, Popcorn!

While we can't believe we're already approaching the end, we're excited to make the most of our final week of Summer Explorers with even more fun, special activities, and lasting memories. We can't wait to finish the summer strong with all of our amazing campers!

Please be sure to pack plenty of snacks your child can enjoy for the day. For Preschool and Jr. Kindergarten Campers, please label snacks with their name and designate AM and PM snacks accordingly.

SUNSCREEN

Please apply sunscreen to your child before arriving at Oakwood each morning. If you would like us to reapply sunscreen to your child during the camp day, we kindly request that you bring your own sunscreen, labeled with your child's name, to be kept at school for the duration of Summer@Oakwood (optional).

PICK-UP BY 5:30 PM

Remember, Summer Explorers ends promptly at 5:30 pm!

Late Pick-Up Fee: A $1.00 per minute late charge will be applied for late

pick-up beginning at 1:25 pm and 5:30 pm.

We embarked on a cosmic journey this week! Our space-themed week at camp was packed with interstellar fun, astronomical adventures, and educational activities that were out of this world! Whether our campers are aspiring astronauts or just stargazing enthusiasts, there's something for everyone in our galaxy.

Our astronauts created dazzling moon rocks and encountered an extraterrestrial vinegar substance to melt the moon dust away to discover a special space gem! We also designed rockets and telescopes to research the great beyond! We closed out our week on a high note and created planets out of the most delicious materials. Earth has never tasted this good! 

The excitement doesn't stop there! Brace yourselves for the incredible themes lined up for the upcoming weeks:

Aloha! What an amazing week we shared as we traveled through our imaginary Hawaiian vacation! Our campers embraced the spirit of the islands through creativity, teamwork, exploration, and plenty of smiles. Our campers enjoyed creating beautiful island-themed masterpieces, such as colorful flower leis, tropical sunset paintings, and many other tropical crafts. They also listened to stories about island life, ocean animals, and Hawaiian traditions while learning about kindness, friendship, and caring for the world around us.

We ended our week with a successful water day celebration. We had tons of fun in the sun and enjoyed all the water activities to the fullest! 

And the excitement doesn't stop there! Brace yourselves for the incredible themes lined up for the upcoming weeks:

• July 27-31: Carnival Fun
• August 3-7: Around the World

We had another exciting week at camp, with a focus on Animal Plant! We explored the amazing world of animals and their habitats. From the dense rainforests to the vast savannas, our campers embarked on a journey to learn about the diverse ecosystems our animal friends call home. Our days were filled with fun activities, including crafts, scavenger hunts, and nature walks. What a wild adventure!   

We even got the chance to pet real-life snacks, lizards, and a tortoise! The Lizard Lady Show was a great success!
