Support
Welcome from the Oakwood Development Office!
Philanthropic giving is a long-standing tradition in independent schools. Since Oakwood School’s founding in 1998, the tradition of giving one’s time, talent, and treasure have been especially important. The practice of paying it forward continues today as families, faculty, staff, alumni, grandparents, and friends support the school in its various development efforts, affirming its mission.
As we welcome new generations into the Oakwood School family, we recognize that providing a more intentional education also requires equally intentional planning for our school’s future. Together, we can sustain the promise of an Oakwood education—for students today, and for generations to come.
Your support allows the school to offer new programs and helps strengthen existing ones. Gifts make financial aid available to qualified students and promote the work of Oakwood’s talented faculty and staff. Donations provide opportunities for campus expansion projects, professional development, technology improvements, athletic supplies, fine arts enhancements, and expanded student initiatives—just to name a few.
As an independent, non-profit school, we rely primarily on donations from families and alumni to ensure a thriving future for our students and a sustainable campus environment. Participation from the entire Oakwood community is the key to our continued success and that’s why every person—not just every dollar—matters.
There are several ways to make a gift to support Oakwood each year. At the start of each school year, we launch the Annual Fund which supports the school's greatest needs with unrestricted giving. Fundraising events throughout the year, such as the Fund Run and the Auction, also give families the opportunity to contribute through their involvement in the school community.
We would be pleased to visit with you about the different ways that your giving can enrich the Oakwood experience. Your gifts and involvement truly make our school extraordinary!
Thank you for helping to make Oakwood a special place.
With gratitude,
Melissa Barrow
