Parent Service Auxiliary Position Descriptions

• Communicate with incoming lower school families via a position on the Welcoming Committee, so that new families feel welcomed; engage room parents in this process.
• Coordinate with lower school teachers in securing parent reps.
• Oversee and coordinate with lower school parent reps.
• Review and approve all parent rep correspondence.
• Assist with Lower School Kick-off event.
• Oversee, coordinate with and help secure event chairs and volunteers in which lower school students are involved. If event chair is not secured, Coordinator(s) will plan and execute the event. (Events & Gatherings)
• Organize and implement periodic school-wide uniform exchanges with Middle School coordinators.

• Communicate with incoming middle school families via a position on the Welcoming Committee, so that new families feel welcomed; engage room parents in this process.
• Coordinate with principal and MS advisors in securing grade level parent reps.
• Oversee and coordinate with middle school grade level parent reps.
• Oversee, coordinate with and help secure event chairs and volunteers in which middle school students are involved. If event chair is not secured, Coordinator(s) will plan and execute the event. (Events & Gatherings)
• Organize and implement periodic school-wide uniform exchanges with lower school coordinators.
• Assist Middle School Council (MSC), as needed.

• Communicate with incoming high school families via a position on the Welcoming Committee, so that new families feel welcomed; engage room parents in this process.
• Coordinate with principal in securing grade level parent reps.
• Oversee and coordinate with high school grade level parent reps.
• Oversee, coordinate with and help secure event chairs and volunteers in which high school students are involved. If event chair is not secured, Coordinator(s) will plan and execute the event. (Events & Gatherings)
• Assist Student Council, as needed.

• Raise awareness in the school parent community of the need for volunteers at school as well as the benefits of volunteering.
• Coordinate all volunteer efforts across the school community.
• Work with other PSA Board Coordinators and school staff to ensure that the needed number of volunteers are in place to successfully create, run, and clean-up every activity or event.

• Coordinate luncheons for teachers and staff (generally one per trimester, including the Holiday Luncheon in December).

• Athletic Events Assistance - assist Athletic department with Athletic Awards and Senior Nights, Homecoming, and Alumni events.
• Team parent liason - assist with team parent communication.
• Community building - promote school spirit within Oakwood and outside athletic activities.
• Snack Shack coordination - assist Athletic Coordinators with volunteer coverage, food coordination, and managing cash bank  

• Record and distribute minutes from PSA board meetings.
• Maintain volunteer survey database and distribute as appropriate to board members and event chairs.
• Coordinate “Thank You” cards sent to event chairs and others as appropriate.
• Assume any other clerical duties, as needed.

• Act as liaison between PSA board and school business office.
• Oversee PSA bookkeeping.
• Present periodic report to PSA board regarding financial status and financial results of events.
• Coordinate event budgets with Principals and PSA Board Coordinators

• Help teacher(s) with classroom endeavors and coordinate parent volunteers/execute classroom events (see list below) as directed by teacher.

• Assist PSA Lower School Coordinators and Administration with communication and soliciting parent volunteers for school events.
